BIONEWS

Oklahoma’s bioscience industry has an economic impact of $3.4 billion across the state. The industry has seen a significant amount of public and private support that continues to grow year after year. To further support the industry, The Oklahoma Bioscience Association (OKBio) was created in spring 2008 to promote biosciences through partnership building, education and outreach, networking and policy development. This organization has continued to spur the momentum that the industry has seen over past years.

Oklahoma’s bioscience community is proud of the symbiotic relationship between clinical researchers, academic investigators, public and private investors, and health care providers – something that has paid off not only in economic terms, but also in miracle drugs and medical advances that are now saving lives around the world. With high-quality, affordable facilities; cutting-edge technology in life, plant, animal and energy research; and a location that is equidistant from both coasts, Oklahoma is an ideal location for fostering bioscience growth.
